Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent I to coordinate site work and supervise on-site teams across multiple projects. The role requires handling complex schedules, interfacing with departments, and ensuring safety requirements are met while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or 10 years trade experience
• Minimum 15 years of construction experience
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in a supervisory role
• Experience with solar or overseeing large industrial power projects
• Proven ability to fulfill responsibilities for multiple complex projects
• Detail orientation to organize and manage multiple tasks
• Knowledge of construction law and standard business practices
• Proficient in MS Office
• Strong customer service and professional attitude
• Ability to travel up to 100%

Responsibilities

• Overall management of construction activities and task assignments
• Interface with other departments to ensure materials, equipment and inspections support the schedule
• Budget, forecast, and manage craft labor, equipment, materials, and consumables
• Review construction documents for completeness and constructability
• Create and update project schedule and look-ahead planning
• Coordinate plans with engineers and clarify discrepancies
• Develop site utilization plan and establish crew sizes
• Select formwork systems and equipment
• Lead pre-construction planning sessions and site meetings
• Supervise work crews and mentor field personnel
• Establish teamwork environment and provide resources
• Performance evaluations and hiring decisions
• Develop leadership for career growth
• Implement safety program at site
• Manage open shop and union issues
• Maintain relationships with visitors (customers, architects, unions, subs)
• Improve site logistics and processes
• Other duties as assigned
