Job summary

The Natural Resources Scientist - Wildlife Biologist role at Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, LLC focuses on wildlife resources across the country, emphasizing regulatory expertise and field assessments from routing to construction support.

You will lead field surveys, prepare permit applications, and develop mitigation plans for energy sector projects including transmission, oil and gas, and renewables, collaborating with regulators, landowners and Indigenous communities.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Biology, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Professional designation with BC College of Applied Biologists or with the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists.
  • 10+ years of professional experience as a biologist, specializing in wildlife biology, or related role.
  • Experience leading wildlife field surveys in remote settings and coordinating with field teams.
  • Experience conducting Environmental Assessments for federal and provincially regulated projects.
  • Knowledge of wildlife legislation and regulations; ability to interpret permits and approvals.
  • Experience with ESRI products and field data collection platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee wildlife field surveys and habitat assessments.
  • Lead wildlife programs during construction and mitigation planning.
  • Prepare permit applications related to wildlife resources.
  • Prepare Wildlife Reports to support Environmental Assessments.
  • Provide regulatory guidance on wildlife management and approvals.
  • Support proposal development with technical scope and cost estimates.
  • Provide technical leadership across multiple projects and deliver quality reports.
  • Collaborate with contractors, regulators, landowners, and Indigenous communities.
