Job summary

Canacre, a Quanta Services Company, seeks a Biological Scientist to lead environmental surveys and guide project teams from pre-construction through completion. The role emphasizes health, safety, and regulatory compliance across projects of varying scale.

You will provide specialized advice on wildlife and vegetation, manage field activities, and ensure accurate field reports while collaborating with stakeholders and construction personnel.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Biology, Environmental Science, or related field
• Minimum 10 years professional experience as a biologist or related role
• Experience conducting environmental surveys
• Experience on NEPA/state-regulated projects is an asset
• Strong written and verbal communication; regulatory permit knowledge

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary field surveys and environmental assessments
• Act as technical lead to project teams and provide guidance
• Ensure health, safety, and wellness within the team
• Develop mitigation strategies for biologically sensitive areas
• Lead field kickoff meetings and review field reports
