Job summary

WSP is seeking a full‑time Biologist in the North Mountain Environmental Impact Assessment and Permitting group, working across UT, CO, ID, MT, WY, OR, and WA. This role requires independent field work and teamwork, with emphasis on avian, wildlife, vegetation, and wetland surveys.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology or related field, 5+ years of consulting experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology or related field.
  • 5+ years of consulting experience, ideally with linear corridor projects.
  • Familiarity with USFWS, BLM, USFS, and state survey requirements.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in remote conditions and independently or as part of a survey team.

Responsibilities

  • Support and help build the environmental project team working on transmission lines, fire hardening, renewable energy, pipelines, transportation projects and permitting services.
  • Support biological field survey efforts across the North Mountain Region (MT, WY, CO, UT, ID, OR), including surveys for rare plants and endangered species.
  • Assist with wetland and biological surveys, permitting, and documentation.
  • Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and policies during field work.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
