Job summary

Colonial Group in Kentucky seeks an Activities Coordinator to plan and oversee therapeutic recreational programs at our center. You will lead by example, supervise staff and volunteers, and ensure programs meet safety and regulatory standards while promoting health and happiness among members.

You will conduct assessments, develop diverse activities, coordinate with internal teams and external services, and stay current on industry trends to enhance the member experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; BS preferred per state guidelines.
• Minimum two years activities experience in healthcare; state guidelines may add requirements.
• Experience with seniors or adults with special needs preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Flexible schedule.
• Able to stand, engage with members, and lift 50 pounds.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Conduct therapeutic recreational assessments to identify interests and needs; maintain updated files.
• Develop, plan, organize and implement diverse programs; publish related calendars.
• Interview, onboard and supervise staff and volunteers; maintain master schedule; provide feedback for evaluations.
• Manage activity supplies, equipment; keep areas organized, clean and stocked.
• Coordinate with internal and external services to ensure quality care for members.
• Participate in staff meetings; collaborate with cross-functional team to enhance member experience.
• Stay current on industry knowledge through education, networking and professional organizations.
• Assist members with activities of daily living as needed.
• Communicate positively with members, families, staff, referral agencies and community.
• Comply with policies, safety and regulatory standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
