Job summary

Active Day is seeking an Activities Coordinator to plan, facilitate, oversee and evaluate therapeutic recreational programs for a center-based population. You will develop engaging activities based on member interests to promote socialization, well-being and FUN.

The role includes supervising staff and volunteers, managing calendars, coordinating with care teams, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while sustaining a positive, energetic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; BS preferred as per regulatory guidelines.
• Minimum of two years activities experience in a healthcare setting; state guidelines may apply.
• Prior experience with seniors or adults with special needs preferred.
• Strong communication and engaging interpersonal skills.
• Able to multitask and manage time effectively.
• Able to work a flexible schedule.
• Able to stand and actively engage with members; lift up to 50 pounds.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Background check clearance; state requirements as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct therapeutic recreational assessment on new members to identify interests and needs.
• Develop, plan, organize and implement diverse therapeutic programs and publish calendars.
• Interview, onboard, and supervise staff and volunteers; maintain master activities schedule; provide feedback.
• Manage activity supplies and maintain organized, clean program areas.
• Coordinate with nursing, transportation, social services and others to ensure quality care.
• Participate in staff meetings and cross-functional collaboration to enhance member experience.
• Stay current on industry knowledge and trends through education and networking.
• Assist members with activities of daily living as needed.
• Communicate professionally with members, families, coworkers and community.
• Comply with company policies, safety and regulatory standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
