Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Program Assistant to help plan and facilitate therapeutic recreational programs for our members in a healthcare setting. You will assist with activities of daily living, meals, and maintaining a clean, uplifting environment.

The role emphasizes a positive attitude, dependable teamwork, safety, and enhancing health and happiness for our members and their caregivers. A flexible schedule is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred or a minimum of two years relevant experience.
• At least one-year full-time equivalent experience in a health care setting preferred.
• Prior experience working with seniors and/or adults with special needs preferred but not required.
• Able to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Able to work a flexible schedule.
• Able to bend, lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods while providing physical assistance.

Responsibilities

• Assist members with activities of daily living and personal care as needed.
• Help plan and facilitate therapeutic recreational programs and encourage member participation.
• Serve meals and snacks and assist with feeding as needed.
• Observe members for changes in condition and escalate concerns.
• Maintain program areas, supplies, and equipment in clean and working order.
• Ensure safety by monitoring activities and maintaining a sanitary environment.
• Communicate professionally with members, families, staff, and community.
• Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
