Job summary

PG&E is seeking a Senior Welding/Mechanical Engineer to serve as a subject matter expert in welding, mechanical design, fabrication and inspections. The role supports PG&E welding programs, day-to-day weld repair, and Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant welding work.

You will develop and implement new welding techniques, prepare procedures, provide consulting to internal and external clients, and coordinate projects across power generation and gas/Electric operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Support PG&E welding programs for Diablo Canyon and hydro generation.
• Develop and qualify welding procedures and welder qualifications.
• Provide welding and mechanical design consulting to internal and external clients.
• Update procedures to comply with codes and standards.
• Coordinate projects, manage budgets and schedules.
• Prepare presentations and proposals for field projects or new business.
