Job summary

SPX Technologies seeks an experienced Welder in Eden, NC to perform TIG welding and fabricate components. You will read blueprints, set up weld parameters, and train others as needed, ensuring high-quality welds across materials. The role emphasizes detailed troubleshooting and prototype fabrication within a manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate has strong math skills, advanced tooling and blueprint literacy, and the ability to work under supervision while guiding teammates toward goals.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 7 years of experience.
• May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty.

Responsibilities

• Perform ordinary and repetitive hand welding operations.
• Maintain mechanical strength on standardized assemblies and products.
• May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, or guides.
• Operate welding equipment; regulate current and voltage for proper fusion of metals.
• Select size and type of rod or wire appropriate for metal and welding application.
• Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other wieldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques.
• Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.
• Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness.
