Job summary

Helion Energy is seeking a skilled Welder to join our Everett, WA shop. You will lead welding and fabrication projects, work with engineers on DFMs, and ensure parts meet exact specifications for Helion generator production.

This role emphasizes safety, quality, and efficient fabrication workflows. You will collaborate with design engineering and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes, interpret complex drawings, and operate a range of welding and fabrication tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on welding and fabrication experience building or repairing metal components and assemblies.
• Experience with MIG/TIG welding and plasma cutters.
• Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
• Commitment to safety practices in workshop environments.
• Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead welding and fabrication projects for custom assemblies supporting Helion generator production.
• Collaborate with engineers and Production Supervisors on decisions.
• Provide DFM feedback to support rapid manufacturing of parts and assemblies.
• Weld and fabricate using plasma cutters, MIG/TIG/arc welders, and oxyacetylene torches.
• Cut, join, and shape metal parts to meet specifications.
• Interpret and work from engineering assembly drawings.
• Operate saws, grinders, drill presses, and other power/hand tools.
• Move materials using forklifts and cranes to support production.
• Follow detailed fabrication instructions and communicate requirements clearly.
• Maintain safe working conditions with proper PPE.
