Job summary

UPMC East is seeking a patient care technician to work on weekends in a hospital setting. You will assist with ADLs, monitor patients, and support nursing staff.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, blood glucose checks, phlebotomy, EKGs, and assisting with therapies, while maintaining safety and documentation in the medical record. Weekend schedule and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to work weekends and in a hospital setting.
• Ability to follow RN instructions and document patient care accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and patient procedures.
• Provide feedback to RN and report changes in patient status.
• Perform nursing assistant responsibilities including vitals, I&O, specimens, and basic therapies.
• Maintain safety, complete documentation, and support departmental initiatives.
