Job summary

UPMC Hamot's Perioperative Services seeks a Patient Care Technician for the Weekend Program to support perioperative patients and the surgical team. The role runs Saturdays and Sundays from 6:00 a.m.

to 6:30 p.m., totaling 24 hours per weekend, with full-time benefits eligibility and a 20% weekend differential. You will assist with baths, vital signs, glucose monitoring, transportation, daily living activities, and other patient care tasks, collaborating with nurses to deliver compassionate,

Qualifications

• One year of prior Patient Care Technician or Certified Nursing Assistant experience preferred.
• Weekend program experience may be beneficial.
• Ability to work Saturday and Sunday shifts and to assist with basic patient care duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulation, repositioning, and transport.
• Obtain vital signs, weights, intake/output, glucose testing, and specimen collections.
• Perform telemetry application, bladder scans, simple dressings, and other patient care duties.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and patient-centered environment.
• Collaborate with nurses and healthcare providers to deliver high-quality care.

Patient Care Technician (Weekend Program) | Perioperative Services

This Weekend Program position works Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (24 hours per weekend) and offers:

In this role, you will support weekend perioperative services by assisting with CHG treatment baths, preoperative shave preps, vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, patient transportation, activities of daily living, and other patient care needs.
