Job summary

The City of Detroit’s Department of Innovation and Technology is seeking a Web Developer III to design, develop, and maintain engaging, accessible, and high-performing digital experiences for City employees, community partners, and the public.

You will design and build websites and applications, optimize performance, collaborate with teams, and help modernize digital services to improve how Detroit residents access information and interact with City services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (CS, Web, or related).
• 5+ years of frontend development experience.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining websites and web applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the City’s websites and web applications.
• Create intuitive, user-centered web experiences for internal and external audiences.
• Test, troubleshoot, and optimize website functionality, performance, accessibility.
• Develop web content, page layouts, site design guidelines, and interactive visualizations.
• Integrate web technologies with enterprise applications, databases, and other systems.
• Monitor website analytics and performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to implement solutions that improve service delivery.
• Stay current with emerging web technologies and industry standards.
