City of Birmingham is seeking a qualified Webmaster to build and maintain the city’s online websites. The role involves using content creation tools to develop pages and applications, identify IT needs for departments, and serve as site administrator for IT systems.

The position requires experience in enterprise web development, systems administration for websites, and full lifecycle project management, with training and user support responsibilities included.

Formación

• Experience creating, scripting, and modifying computer programs using various languages (e.g., HTML, T-SQL, VB, C++, Java, Python, XML).
• Experience building websites in medium to large enterprise settings.
• Experience providing systems administration support for websites and user access rights.
• Experience with project management in full life cycle development and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsabilidades

• Designs, builds, and maintains websites, applications, or programs using scripting languages and content tools.
• Selects programming languages and tools as required by the task.
• Acts as site administrator for systems by providing user support and managing user access.
• Creates or updates system documentation and user guides for applications and reviews reference materials.
• Analyzes user needs to define technical requirements for application development.
• Conducts training to ensure knowledge of work processes and standards.
• Answers user inquiries to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
