Job summary

Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking a .NET Developer in Lansing to support public-facing burn-permit availability applications. The Senior Developer will bridge Agencies and project stakeholders, translating strategic goals into robust technical solutions.

You will lead development and enhancements, collaborate with business analysts, and ensure updates are efficient, sustainable, and aligned with agency objectives. Hybrid work with on-site days is required.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have strong customer service mindset and ability to translate requirements into technical designs.
• Experience in .NET development including public-facing applications is required.
• Ability to collaborate with agency partners and translate business needs into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance public-facing applications supporting the Michigan burn-permit availability.
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to interpret requirements and design technical solutions.
• Translate business needs into system architecture and development tasks.
• Support development, testing, debugging, and deployment activities.
• Participate in discovery sessions and process modeling to align objectives with functionality.
• Provide guidance on technical feasibility, standards, and policies.
• Maintain communication with agency partners throughout the lifecycle.

Bachelor's Degree in a related field
