City of Atlanta seeks a Watershed Manager II (Operations) in Atlanta, GA to oversee water distribution operations and maintenance staff. This experienced professional will manage a broad set of activities with limited guidance, balancing fieldwork, budgeting, and staff development.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in operations management, extensive experience with wastewater systems, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management or related field.
Seven (7) years of design, construction, and/or project management experience with wastewater collection systems.
Five (5) years of supervisory experience.
Wastewater Collection License.
Ten (10) years or more of work experience in a large wastewater collection system.
Ten (10) years or more of management experience in a large wastewater collection system.

Responsibilities

Provides training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
Manages resources by tracking work progression and performance metrics for crews.
Coordinates with stakeholders, partner agencies, local governments, and emergency services.
Forecasts funds for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitors expenses and recommends adjustments.
Communicates operational performance highlights to department management.
