Job summary

The City of Atlanta seeks a Watershed Manager II (OLIO - Operations) to oversee water distribution operations and maintenance staff in Atlanta, GA. This role requires extensive design, construction, and project management experience with wastewater systems and includes supervisory responsibilities and budget oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management or related field.
• Seven years of design, construction, and/or project management experience with wastewater collection systems.
• Five years of supervisory experience.
• Wastewater Collection License.
• Ten years or more of work experience in a large wastewater collection system.
• Ten years or more of management experience in a large wastewater collection system.

Responsibilities

• Provides training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
• Verifies the use of construction and maintenance equipment is proper and in accordance with department and industry standards.
• Manages resources by tracking work progression and other key performance metrics for various water distribution operation and maintenance crews.
• Coordinates with stakeholders, partner agencies, local governments, and emergency services.
• Participates in development and administration of program budget; forecasts funds for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; and monitors and approves expenses and recommends adjustments.
• Ensures construction, operation, and maintenance crews have the necessary resources to complete assignments.
• Establishes work methods, timetables, performance standards, etc. and makes design and field decisions.
• Communicates operational performance highlights to department management or others senior-level official
• May perform other duties as assigned.
