Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (required).
• Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience in feasibility, design, and/or construction management.
• Experience with developing construction documents including plans and specifications.
• Professional Engineer License (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (preferred).
• Minimum of 15 years with an engineering consulting firm with emphasis in coastal or environmental engineering or science (preferred).
• Experience in coastal projects, regulator coordination, Great Lakes/Midwest projects (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead and designer on coastal, waterfront, and marine infrastructure projects.
• Perform coastal condition calculations and structural analyses for shoreline protection and marine structures.
• Lead development of construction documents with plans and specifications.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to manage budgets, schedules, deliverables, and quality.
• Identify and implement innovative design/engineering technologies and improve standard practices.
• Support regulatory knowledge and contribute to the firm's technical library in coastal engineering.
• Assist business development with technical approaches and client relationships.
• Act as primary technical point of contact for clients through project lifecycle.
• Build and mentor multidisciplinary teams to advance coastal engineering competencies.
