Job summary

Foth is seeking a Lead Waterfront/Marine Structural Engineer to serve as the technical lead and designer on waterfront, coastal, and marine projects. This role involves planning, engineering, and construction of shoreline protection, stabilization, and marine structures in diverse locations.

The successful candidate will perform coastal condition calculations, structural analyses, and develop construction documents while advancing design technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (required).
• Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 15 years with an engineering consulting firm with emphasis in coastal/environmental engineering.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead and designer on coastal, waterfront, and marine infrastructure projects, supporting planning, engineering, and construction efforts
• Perform coastal condition calculations and structural analyses to develop and review designs for shoreline protection, stabilization systems, and marine/waterfront structures
• Lead the development of construction documents, including plans and specifications, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards
• Collaborate with Project Managers to manage budgets, schedules, deliverables, and quality standards
• Identify and implement innovative design and engineering technologies while developing standard work practices for coastal engineering
• Maintain regulatory knowledge and support the firm’s technical library in structural and coastal engineering
• Support business development by preparing technical approaches and proposals and building client relationships
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle
• Build, lead, and mentor multidisciplinary teams to advance coastal engineering competencies through coaching
