Job summary

Foth is seeking a Lead Waterfront/Marine Structural Engineer to lead a range of waterfront and coastal projects. Responsibilities include coastal calculations, structural analyses, and developing construction documents for shoreline protection and marine structures.

The role supports planning, engineering, and construction efforts with a focus on innovative design and regulatory compliance, while mentoring multidisciplinary teams and engaging clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience in feasibility, design, and/or construction management.
• Experience with developing construction documents including plans and specifications.
• Professional Engineer License (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering is preferred.
• 15+ years with an engineering consulting firm with coastal/environmental emphasis is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead and designer on coastal, waterfront, and marine projects.
• Perform coastal condition calculations and structural analyses for shoreline protection and marine structures.
• Lead development of construction documents, plans, and specs.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to manage budgets, schedules, and quality.
• Identify and implement innovative design technologies and improve standard practices.
• Support business development with technical approaches and client relationships.
• Act as primary technical contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
