Job summary

Stantec’s Water practice seeks a highly motivated Resident Engineer for large water and wastewater projects in the Boston area. The role combines field supervision with office work, leading construction management, safety, and project controls to deliver reliable water infrastructure for communities.

Travel to out-of-town projects is required. The successful candidate will have 10+ years in water/wastewater, a Civil Engineering degree, CCM preferred, and strong leadership in multi-disciplinary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of progressive experience on large water/wastewater projects.
• CCM is preferred; construction management experience required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction phase technical supervision for diverse projects (sewer, pump stations, tanks, treatment plants).
• Supervise staff, manage timesheets, training and development.
• Coordinate RFI responses and shop drawing reviews with design team.
• Lead construction contract administration and quality management.
• Ensure safety, permit compliance, and coordination with agencies.
• Monitor contractor performance and manage payment processes.
• Travel to out-of-town projects as needed.
