Job summary

MWH Constructors in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead water, wastewater, and advanced treatment plant construction projects for municipal and industrial clients.

You will plan, direct, and coordinate projects, manage budgets, schedules, and teams, and liaise with clients, A/E firms, and subcontractors to deliver safe, on-time results. Candidates typically have 8–15 years in heavy civil/construction, with 3–5 years in water/wastewater.

Qualifications

• 4-year engineering/construction management degree or equivalent.
• 8–15 years of construction, design, finance and management experience on heavy civil or industrial projects.
• 3–5 years of water or wastewater plant project experience.
• Strong leadership and strategic thinking capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and staff key field positions and coordinate staffing.
• Establish project objectives, policies and performance standards per corporate policy.
• Liaise with prime clients and A/E contacts to facilitate preconstruction and construction activities.
• Monitor and control construction to meet schedule and budget; implement corrective actions as needed.
• Represent the company in project meetings and in labor strategy discussions.
• Manage contract finances to protect company interests and maintain client relations.
• Develop and follow the Management Administration Plan with the project team.
• Ensure safety compliance and promote safe work practices on site.
• Provide leadership and technical support to engineers and superintendents.
• Procurement of subcontractors and materials; manage change, cost forecasting and scheduling.
