Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support our Water/Wastewater practice across the New England area. This hybrid role can be based in Greater Boston, Providence, RI or Glastonbury, CT, with frequent travel to local offices.

This position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and dental coverage, life and disability insurance, 401k match, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• 5+ years of drinking water, water supply or wastewater design experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer, or working towards licensure within one year.
• Proven writing skills for memoranda, reports, proposals and contracts.
• Experience coordinating efforts of other disciplines and outside consultants.
• Ability to interact effectively with clients.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordination, and execution of projects.
• Develop technical solutions and coordinate design across disciplines.
• Monitor budgets and schedules, report progress weekly.
• Lead construction administration tasks including meetings, submittals, and RFIs.
• Prepare proposals, scopes, fees, and schedules with the Project Manager.
• Mentor less experienced staff and participate in annual reviews.
• Coordinate with clients and attend meetings, including hearings.
