Job summary

American Water is seeking a Senior, Project Delivery Engineer to lead water and wastewater capital projects in Belleville, IL from scope and design through construction, coordinating with consultants, contractors and CAD operators.

The role offers a hybrid work model (three days in office/field and two days remote) with a base salary range of $70,690–$118,100 plus eligible annual incentive pay and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in engineering design, planning, construction, project delivery or project management.
• Hydraulic modeling experience for water/wastewater systems is a plus.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead water and wastewater projects from inception to completion within scope and budget.
• Develop detailed project plans, designs and specifications for water infrastructure.
• Serve as a technical resource on water and wastewater system matters.
• Coordinate with consulting engineers, contractors, technicians, and CAD operators.
• Support selection of consulting and construction firms through negotiation or competitive processes.
