Job summary

The City of Westminster, CO seeks a Plant Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and modifications on water and wastewater equipment. You will troubleshoot pumps, motors, and related systems while following safety rules and maintaining clear records.

Starting pay depends on experience and certification, with opportunities to advance to Senior Plant Mechanic. The role requires overtime and on-call availability, and the city offers a multilingual stipend program for fluent

Qualifications

• Skilled journey-level labor with experience operating light machinery and hand/power tools.
• Knowledge of pump maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and instrumentation/control troubleshooting.
• Ability to follow safety rules and work in physically demanding environments.
• Experience with maintenance records, and basic computer programs (Word, Excel) and SCADA.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, moderate to complex repairs, and modifications on water/wastewater process equipment.
• Troubleshoot pumps, motors, compressors and related equipment; install/align pumps and components.
• Maintain logs and reports; follow sketches and specifications; ensure safety practices.
• Operate tools and equipment safely, including confined spaces and electrical systems.
• Maintain communication with team members and supervisors; participate in on-call rotations.
