Job summary

Foster Lawson is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead the operation and maintenance of our water and wastewater assets in Florida. You will manage a team of operators and technicians, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient treatment works and networks.

You will oversee daily operations, regulatory compliance, capital projects, budgets and stores, while coordinating with contractors and engineering teams through planning, commissioning and handover.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising a team in water or wastewater operations.
• Knowledge of treatment processes, pumping systems, SCADA/telemetry and process control.
• Understanding of water industry regulation, environmental permitting and health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operation of water and wastewater assets and networks.
• Lead and schedule process operators and maintenance technicians, including shifts.
• Ensure compliance with drinking water quality standards and permits; support audits and inspections.
• Monitor performance and take corrective action to prevent incidents.
• Manage capital schemes with engineering teams from planning to handover.
• Read P&IDs and site drawings to plan work and troubleshoot issues.
• Manage operational budget, track spend and input on capex priorities.
• Control inventory of chemicals, spares and PPE to keep supplies on site.
• Promote safety culture with permit-to-work and lone-working procedures.
• Report to senior management on performance, risks and improvements.
