Jacobs in California seeks a Senior Building Mechanical Engineer to lead design of plumbing, HVAC, odor control and fire protection for water and wastewater facilities, coordinating with architects and other engineers.

You will prepare drawings and specs, perform calculations, mentor junior staff, and support field teams during construction, with a hybrid work model and PE license required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years’ experience in producing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection designs for design-build projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Motivation, data analysis, problem-solving ability, organizational skills, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and specifications for mechanical systems in water/wastewater facilities.
• Prepare drawings, calculations and permitting support.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineers.
• Mentor designers/drafters and review submittals.
• Attend meetings with clients and stakeholders to discuss design issues.
