Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Building Mechanical Engineer in California to lead the design of plumbing, HVAC, odor control, and fire protection systems for water and wastewater facilities. You will prepare drawings, perform calculations, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.

You will mentor junior staff, engage with clients, and support field activities during construction. A PE license and 10+ years of relevant experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Strong data analysis, organizational and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of plumbing and HVAC systems for water/wastewater facilities.
• Prepare drawings and specifications for client submission and permits.
• Coordinate with architects, other engineers and vendors.
• Perform design calculations, energy analyses and lifecycle cost reviews.
• Provide mentorship to junior designers and drafters.
