Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Lead Estimator for water and wastewater projects. You will prepare detailed cost estimates, perform quantity takeoffs, and coordinate with design, procurement, and operations teams across diverse municipal and private clients.

You will guide junior estimators, manage multiple bids, and ensure estimate accuracy from early concept to final proposal. The role offers hybrid work options and is embedded in a globally recognized, employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• 8 to 20 years of relevant experience including estimating
• Bidding experience required
• Field and/or project experience preferred
• Must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete and accurate cost estimates for diverse water/wastewater projects
• Perform quantity takeoffs and assign crews by discipline
• Coordinate with design, operation and procurement teams
• Provide technical advice to design team across estimate levels
• Manage multiple estimates and timelines
• Maintain estimating database and support continuous improvement
