Job summary

ERG is seeking a Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer to join our Water and Wastewater Engineering team. You will collaborate with USEPA, state agencies, utilities, and organizations to address water quality and infrastructure challenges.

You will supervise staff, assess new treatment technologies, and guide engineering reports and funding program guidance, while leading business development and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s or master’s in chemical, environmental, civil or related engineering field.
• 20–25 years of progressively responsible experience in water resources and wastewater systems.
• Strong ability to develop comprehensive engineering reports from concept to final design.
• Deep knowledge of environmental permitting and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff delivering technical assistance to water utilities nationwide.
• Assess and promote innovative water treatment technologies and reduce adoption barriers.
• Evaluate design, costs, feasibility, and environmental impacts of projects.
• Guide preparation and delivery of preliminary engineering reports.
• Lead environmental sampling programs and prepare technical reports.
• Provide guidance on eligibility for federal water funding programs.
• Lead business development and client relationships.
