Job summary

SZ PM Consultants, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead municipal water and wastewater programs in the Washington DC area. The role acts as an owner’s representative and technical advisor, guiding planning, design, construction, and operations coordination for critical infrastructure.

You will manage multidisciplinary projects, review technical documents, and mentor junior staff while ensuring regulatory compliance and asset-management alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental/related engineering.
• PE license in MD/VA/DC or eligible for DC licensure via comity within 6 months.
• 10+ years of progressive water and wastewater engineering experience.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of municipal water and wastewater systems.
• Excellent communication, leadership and client-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage water and wastewater projects from planning through design, construction and commissioning.
• Serve as owner’s representative and technical advisor for utility clients.
• Lead coordination among utility staff, consultants, contractors, regulators and stakeholders.
• Review engineering studies, design submissions and construction documents.
• Support asset management and capital improvement planning initiatives.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance.
