Job summary

STV seeks a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer for its Water and Wastewater practice in Kentucky (Louisville or Lexington). The role provides technical leadership, supports staff, and helps grow the statewide practice.

You will lead full project cycles from planning to construction closeout, mentor teams, and engage clients. The position offers collaboration with national projects and regional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or equivalent; master’s degree preferred.
• Ten+ years in design and construction administration of water/wastewater infrastructure in consulting.
• Professional Engineer license in Kentucky or ability to obtain licensure.
• Experience with water/wastewater pipelines, pumping, storage, conveyance, or treatment systems.
• Experience leading technical design teams and managing scope, schedule and budget.
• Proven ability to maintain client relationships and support business development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of contract documents, plans and specs.
• Design water and wastewater pipelines, pumping, storage and treatment systems.
• Perform hydraulic and pump calculations; develop pump curves.
• Prepare and review construction estimates and cost planning.
• Provide technical direction and quality control for engineers and designers.
• Manage project tasks, scopes, schedules, budgets and cross-disciplinary coordination.
• Act as technical and client-facing representative in meetings and coordination.
• Support business development, proposals, interviews and future project work.
• Conduct site visits during design and construction to observe installation.
• Review shop drawings/submittals for conformance.
