Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP in Tampa, Florida seeks a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead and manage projects from inception through completion. This role also drives business development and client relationships to grow our water/wastewater practice in the region.

The ideal candidate has a PE license in Florida, a minimum of 16 years of water/wastewater experience, and a proven track record delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or mechanical engineering.
• PE license in Florida.
• 16+ years of water/wastewater engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of Florida water/wastewater specifications, policies, and procedures.
• Proven track record delivering complex water/wastewater projects on time and within budget.
• Excellent communication skills with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
• Leadership capabilities and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead marketing efforts to cultivate new client relationships and expand the firm’s presence in the water/wastewater market in Florida.
• Manage, plan, and provide design oversight for water/wastewater projects, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to project requirements.
• Prepare and monitor project budgets, maintain control of work-in-progress, and ensure accurate client billings.
• Successfully manage project delivery to meet established timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Participate in all phases of project construction, including pre-bid conferences, bid evaluations, contract preparation, and construction oversight.
• Engage in pre-project meetings, client presentations, and interviews to secure new project opportunities.
• Lead project planning efforts from procurement through execution and closeout phases, ensuring efficient project execution and achievement of project goals.
