Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking a WWW Division Manager II to oversee the Surface Water Management, Utility Maintenance or Engineering Division within the Bureau of Water and Waste Water of the Department of Public Works. The role reports to the Bureau Head and may require evening/weekend hours and on-call duties in emergencies.

Responsibilities include directing large teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing capital projects, and coordinating with public officials.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or environmental science from an accredited college or university.
Five years of experience overseeing operations and programs of a water or wastewater utility, including four years supervising others.
Knowledge of water and wastewater utility administration and operations.
Strong management, planning and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Directs operations of the Division of Surface Water Management or Engineering within DPW.
Oversees personnel, training, performance evaluation and promotions.
Ensures compliance with Federal, State and local water regulations.
Accounts to authorities for regulatory compliance; prepares reports and testifies when needed.
Directs equipment, supplies, and materials for construction and maintenance.
