Job summary

InterAgency Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead our water and wastewater conveyance practice in the Mid-Atlantic region. The role emphasizes technical authority, standards setting, and mentoring junior engineers across active programs with clients including DC Water and WSSC.

The position requires a PE license, 10+ years in conveyance, and strong client-facing communication. Hybrid work in the DC metro region is offered along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or closely related field.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience focused on water and wastewater conveyance.
• Current Professional Engineer (PE) license; DC/MD/VA licensure preferred or reciprocity eligible.
• Experience as technical lead, project manager, or program manager on water/wastewater capital programs.
• Strong knowledge of conveyance planning and design: hydraulic capacity evaluation, alternatives analysis, rehab vs replacement, pump and force main design, field support.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical resource on water and wastewater conveyance assignments.
• Perform hydraulic/hydrologic analysis and modeling and review models/drawings.
• Prepare, review, and seal engineering deliverables as a PE.
• Lead day-to-day technical work on task orders and coordinate with partners.
• Provide construction-phase support: submittals, RFIs, field observations.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to QA/QC standards and templates.
• Contribute technical content to SOQs, proposals, and scopes of work.
