Job summary

InterAgency Inc. is seeking a Staff Engineer to join our water and wastewater conveyance practice in the DC metro region. The role supports design, analysis, and field work on projects for DC Water, WSSC, Fairfax, and others.

The position welcomes recent graduates and EITs. You will perform hydraulic calculations, develop plans in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, manage data, and support construction-phase services with travel across the DC area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• 0–4 years of engineering experience.
• Coursework or knowledge of fluid mechanics and hydraulics.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and Excel for calculations.
• Willingness to perform field work and travel to DC metro sites.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Support design and analysis tasks for water/wastewater conveyance projects.
• Prepare calculations and hydraulic modeling inputs.
• Produce plans and figures in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and GIS.
• Organize project data and quality-check records.
• Draft technical memoranda, design reports, and specs.
• Perform field work at facilities and construction sites.
• Support construction-phase services including submittals and RFIs.
• Coordinate with clients and InterAgency colleagues.
• Assist proposal development with graphics and project descriptions.
• Accurately track hours and task progress.
