Job summary

InterAgency Inc. is seeking a Practice Lead to establish and grow its water and wastewater engineering practice in the Mid-Atlantic region.

The role involves pursuing new business, setting technical standards, hiring engineers, mentoring staff, and serving as the primary technical authority on water and wastewater work. You will lead teams on planning, design, and program management for conveyance projects, oversee budgets and schedules, and build client relationships with DC Water, WSSC, and

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required.
• 15+ years experience in water and wastewater conveyance.
• Active PE license; DC/MD/VA preferred.
• Experience leading technical teams and managing scope, schedule, and budget.
• Proven ability to build client relationships and pursue opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and program management for water and wastewater projects.
• Provide senior technical oversight of deliverables and QA/QC.
• Manage client/agency communications, budgets, and schedules.
• Develop new business and grow the practice regionally.
• Mentor and hire engineers and EITs; establish QA/QC standards.

Education

Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering

15+ years water/wastewater conveyance engineering experience

Professional Engineer (PE) license

Technical lead / project/program management experience

Strong client & agency-facing communication

Business development experience
