Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP seeks a Water Treatment Engineer with 5–10 years of progressive design and construction experience for municipal and industrial water projects in Virginia. You will lead design teams, mentor junior staff, coordinate with clients, and manage budgets and schedules to deliver safe, reliable water treatment solutions.

This full-time role requires a PE license in Virginia or eligibility within six months, a ABET-accredited BS in Civil/Environmental/Mechanical

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• 5–10 years of progressive experience in municipal water treatment design and construction.
• PE license in Virginia or able to obtain within 6 months.
• Excellent oral and written communication; strong leadership.

Responsibilities

• Assess municipal water treatment facilities and perform planning studies.
• Develop engineering designs for water treatment plants and related facilities.
• Manage projects from concept through construction and oversee milestones.
• Coordinate with internal teams, subconsultants, and clients.
• Mentor and train junior engineers and support staff.
