Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Water Treatment Engineer with 5–10 years of progressive experience to design and manage municipal water treatment projects, including raw water and post-filtration facilities.

You will lead design tasks, coordinate with internal teams and clients, mentor junior engineers, and participate in proposals and interviews. A PE license (VA) or the ability to obtain within 6 months is preferred, ABET degree required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 5–10 years of progressive experience in municipal water treatment, treatment technology, water quality and process system planning, design, and construction.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design municipal water treatment facilities and planning studies.
• Develop engineering designs for water treatment plants and facilities.
• Manage projects from concept through construction and monitor budgets/schedules.
• Coordinate with internal teams, subconsultants, and clients to meet milestones.
• Provide construction-phase support, including attending meetings and reviewing submittals.
• Lead technical tasks across multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, and technical proposals.
