Job summary

City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities seeks an Engineer Principal - Water Supply Planning and Modeling Engineer to support drinking water supply planning analysis and regional plan updates. The role involves modeling with GIS and industry tools like HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and MODFLOW, plus expansion to treatment plant and distribution system models over time.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of engineering experience, a PE license in VA preferred, and strong hydrology and hydraulics

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering is required.
• Five years of professional engineering experience.
• Two years of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop or review models to support regional water supply planning.
• Represent the City of Richmond in regional water supply planning efforts.
• Perform scenario assessment to support future growth evaluation.
• Coordinate with CIP and O&M teams to inform water supply planning information.
• Assist with development, upkeep, and analysis using hydraulic and process models of the water and wastewater systems.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
