The City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities is seeking for highly qualified candidates to fill Engineer Principal - Water Supply Planning and Modeling Engineer position. The selected candidate will support DPU with drinking water supply planning analysis and modeling to support updates to a regional water supply plan, as well as City capital improvement projects, system planning, and operations as needed. The select candidate shall be proficient with Geographical Information Technology (GIS) and common industry software used for watershed modeling, such as HEC-HMS (watershed hydrology), HEC-RAS (river hydraulics), and MODFLOW (groundwater) or equivalent modeling software and must possess relevant technical knowledge. Following more immediate efforts around regional water supply planning, the selected candidate will take on more responsibility with development and upkeep of other models at the City, including process and hydraulic models of the water and wastewater treatment plants, and the City's water distribution system.
