Job summary

Erdman Anthony is seeking a Senior Engineer - Water Resource/Transportation to lead the water resources program for transportation projects across Pennsylvania. You will manage permitting, stormwater, hydraulics studies, and drainage design with a focus on quality and schedule.

The role requires PE licensure in PA or ability to obtain, 8-10+ years of relevant experience, and the ability to mentor staff and coordinate design teams.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in civil engineering required.
• 8-10+ years of progressive technical experience, diversified knowledge preferred.
• Civil engineer with water resources design and transportation engineering focus.
• PA Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain.
• Experience with DOT/DEP requirements related to water resources and development plans.
• Experience with design software for water resources in transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Executes assignments requiring a thorough knowledge of engineering fundamentals and the application of these fundamentals to the production of engineering work.
• Works on projects that typically include permitting, stormwater management, erosion and sedimentation control, drainage, bridge hydraulics, and other transportation related water resources tasks.
• Executes a variety of engineering tasks including preparation of reports, investigatory studies, preparation of design calculations, and detailing for plan preparation.
• Translates design criteria and standard details into completed designs.
• Prepares and supervises designs in compliance with company design procedures as well as client standards and regulatory requirements.
• Is proactive in clarifying directions on project design issues, and proceeds on projects with a clear understanding of the scope, time, schedule and budget.
• Attends project team meetings and serves can serve as Task Manager
• Maintains frequent communication with project team members to verify design requirements and identify problems that arise
• Coordinates water resources staff member assignments and provide assistance and direction to staff to ensure project tasks are completed on time and within budget
• Performs field related tasks, as necessary, to ensure quality completion of engineering assignments
