Job summary

McMillen, Inc. designs and builds solutions in water resources, seeking a Structural Project Engineer with 5-10 years of experience for a variety of civil infrastructure projects including fisheries, hydropower, dams, and flood control.

The role involves design, analysis, site visits, and mentoring staff, with travel up to 15% to project sites and client locations. A Bachelor’s in Structural or Civil Engineering and a Master’s in Structural Engineering are required, with P.E./P.Eng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an accredited University.
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience as a Structural Engineer.
• P.E. or P.Eng. licensure is a plus.
• Experience with water resource infrastructure including fishery-related projects, hydropower, dams, water conveyance, storm water networks, heavy grading, water treatment, spillways, and pump stations.
• Experience with FEA modeling software for linear and nonlinear analysis (ABAQUS/ANSYS).
• Knowledge of seismic loads analysis methods (coefficient, spectrum, time history).
• Familiarity with ASCE7, ACI 318/350, AISC 360/341; familiarity with FERC/USACE/USBR codes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Design Documentation Reports, technical memoranda, and other technical reports.
• Evaluate and apply advanced structural design techniques and criteria.
• Perform structural computations by hand and with design software per current codes.
• Develop project details and drawings by hand or CAD.
• Edit project specifications and assist with the Project Manual.
• Support construction phase with submittals, RFI responses, site inspections.
