Job summary

Huitt-Zollars, Inc. in Oklahoma City is seeking a Civil Engineer/Project Manager - Water Resources (Eng IV) with 10+ years of experience to lead stormwater projects and advance design in public works and transportation.

You will oversee budgets, mentor staff, develop proposals, and interface with clients, agencies, and regulators while delivering quality hydrologic/hydraulic analyses. Licensed Professional Engineer in Oklahoma preferred; strong teamwork and leadership are essential for project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
• Registered Professional Engineer in Oklahoma or ability to attain.
• 10+ years of civil engineering design experience.
• Strong technical skills in hydrologic & hydraulic analyses.
• Ability to mentor staff in civil engineering documents and specifications.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to write clearly to communicate technical issues and design ideas.
• Ability to lead and foster professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for stormwater management and floodplain mapping.
• Lead staff in plans, specifications, and estimates for water resource construction documents.
• Utilize software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Infoworks ICM, XPSWMM, MicroStation ORD-DU, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GIS for design and analysis.
• Conduct quality reviews on H&H work for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Interface daily with clients, develop proposals, negotiate scopes and fees, ensure timely billing and change orders.
• Support client engagement, permitting, and regulatory compliance with local agencies, ODOT, and FEMA.
• Train and mentor staff for technical, managerial, and professional growth.
• Identify contacts/clients/opportunities for new work.
• Provide leadership to identify opportunities for growth and strategic planning.
