Job summary

VHB is seeking a Water Resources Project Manager in Massachusetts to lead hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality projects across a mix of site-to-watershed scales. The role is hybrid, with options in Watertown, Springfield, or Worcester, and involves mentoring staff, budget tracking, and business development.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hydrologic/hydraulic modeling (e.g., Hydrocad, Hec-Ras), design of stormwater measures, and licensing as a P.E.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental/water resource engineering or related discipline; master's degree may substitute for 2 years experience.
• 8 years of experience required.
• P.E. licensure required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• AutoCAD and GIS experience strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams to provide innovative hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality solutions.
• Conduct and/or lead staff in hydrologic and hydraulic studies, reports, design plans, and construction documents.
• Partner with the integrated team to evaluate permit requirements and prepare applications for approvals.
• Mentor and support team members, expanding their technical expertise.
• Identify both short-term deadlines and long-term client goals.
• Track budgets, schedules, staff availability, and deadlines.
• Assist with identifying and pursuing new clients and leverage relationships for existing clients.
• Lead business development including proposal, scope and fee development.
