Job summary

VHB's Watertown/Boston team seeks a Water Resources Project Manager to lead a portfolio of water resources and stormwater projects, guiding a multidisciplinary team and coordinating with clients. You will oversee field investigations, data analysis, and regulatory compliance while advancing project delivery and quality.

Qualifications

• BS in civil/environmental engineering or related field; master's may substitute for 2 years experience.
• Min 8 years experience in stormwater, water quality, and/or regulatory work.
• Licensure preferred.
• Experience supervising and mentoring staff and managing projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a portfolio of water resources and stormwater projects, including scope, planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Mentor and lead an interdisciplinary water resources team with technical guidance and quality oversight.
• Plan and track delivery, align work with client goals and program needs.
• Oversee field investigations such as stormwater inspections and water quality sampling with QA/QC protocols.
• Analyze water quality and hydrologic data to produce actionable recommendations and implementation plans.
• Design and maintain data tools in ArcGIS to support data collection and reporting.
• Advise clients on regulatory requirements and support compliance program development.
• Develop process improvements to increase efficiency and standardize workflows.
• Prepare technical reports, memoranda, maps, and guidance documents.
• Coordinate permit applications and compliance reports with team inputs.
• Identify and pursue funding opportunities for stormwater programs and related funds.
