Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants seeks a Senior or Principal Water Resources Engineer or Scientist to advance complex urban stormwater and natural water projects from Florida offices (Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, Melbourne, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, Clearwater, Pensacola, Tallahassee, Gainesville).

The role focuses on hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, floodplain mapping, and green infrastructure planning, with opportunities for leadership and client engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering or closely related discipline with emphasis on water resources.
• Advanced degree in the same field is preferred.
• Professional registration (PE, PG, CPESC, CPSWG) is required.

Responsibilities

• Performing and overseeing detailed hydrologic and hydraulic studies.
• Developing innovative green infrastructure solutions for the urban environment.
• Applying modeling software from 1-D to 3-D transport models.
• Floodplain mapping and flood protection designs.
• In-stream and urban stormwater quality monitoring and modeling.
• Field investigations and construction support services.
• Developing construction documents and technical specifications.
• Preparing erosion and sediment control designs.
• Interacting with client representatives.
• Directing multidisciplinary project teams.
• Scoping, performing, and delivering multiple concurrent projects.
• Support lead generation and mentoring; publish and present at conferences.
