Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants in Florida seeks a Senior or Principal Water Resources Engineer or Scientist to lead complex hydrologic and hydraulic studies, develop innovative green infrastructure concepts, and provide federal and state permitting support.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor staff, and travel to client sites across Florida, with primary location in Jacksonville. A PE license and 8+ years experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering with emphasis on water resources (required).
• Professional licensure (PE or equivalent) required; other registrations (P.G., CPESC, CPSWG) desirable.
• Advanced degree preferred and experience in a fast-paced consulting environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performing and overseeing detailed hydrologic and hydraulic studies.
• Developing innovative green infrastructure solutions for urban environments.
• Applying hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software from 1-D to 3-D.
• Floodplain mapping and flood protection design.
• In-stream and urban stormwater quality monitoring and modeling.
• Field investigations and construction support services.
• Developing construction documents, drawings and specs.
• Preparing erosion and sediment control designs.
• Interacting with client representatives and leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Supporting business development and staff mentoring.
