Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants seeks a Senior or Principal Water Resources Engineer or Scientist to work across Florida offices including Jacksonville. The role focuses on urban stormwater management, green infrastructure, flood risk assessment, and hydrologic modeling for private and public sector clients.

Candidates should have a BS in environmental/civil engineering, PE/GIS licensure, 8+ years of experience, and proficiency with SWMM, HEC-HMS/HEC-RAS, AutoCAD and ArcGIS; willingness to travel and lead

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering with emphasis on water resources
• Professional registration required (P.E., P.G., CPESC, CPSWG)
• 8+ years of research or related experience (10+ preferred)

Responsibilities

• Performing and overseeing detailed hydrologic and hydraulic studies
• Developing innovative green infrastructure solutions for the urban environment
• Applying hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, from 1-D to 3-D transport models
• Floodplain mapping and flood protection designs
• In-stream and urban stormwater water quality monitoring and modeling
• Field investigations and construction support services
• Developing construction documents, including engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Preparing erosion and sediment control designs
• Interacting with client representatives
• Directing multidisciplinary project teams
• Task and project-level responsibility for scoping, performing, managing and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments
• Supporting lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring; publishing visibility
