Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants seeks a Senior or Principal Water Resources Engineer or Scientist to join our Florida offices (Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, Melbourne, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, Clearwater, Pensacola, Tallahassee, Gainesville).

You will work on complex projects including urban stormwater management, green infrastructure planning, flood modeling, dam breach studies, stream restoration, and NPDES/permitting support, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering with emphasis on water resources or closely related discipline (required).
• Advanced degree in the same (preferred).
• Professional registration (P.E., P.G., CPESC, CPSWG) (required).
• At least 8 years (10+ preferred) of related experience. (required).
• Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and design software. (preferred).
• Excellent writing and communication skills. (required).
• Regular field work and travel. (required).

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee detailed hydrologic and hydraulic studies.
• Develop innovative green infrastructure solutions for urban environments.
• Apply modeling software from 1‑D to 3‑D transport models.
• Conduct floodplain mapping and flood protection design.
• Perform in‑stream and urban stormwater water quality monitoring and modeling.
• Lead field investigations and provide construction support.
• Prepare construction documents and technical specifications.
• Direct multidisciplinary project teams.
• Support lead generation and mentoring activities.
• Enhance company visibility through conferences and publications.
